"universal knowledge"

We can all agree that "universal knowledge"  like human biomechanics, anatomy, and natural laws of movement transcend styles and of course theres culture and sub-cultural standard. These truths belong to everyone, and any Silat that ignores them risks becoming rigid or ineffective. Simply put to force uniformity of perguruan culture into common culture is wrong, but to respect the universality of the body is essential.

Having said that, nobody can set a litmus test for how Silat should be practiced or organized, no matter how high their level or title may be. The rukun perguruan (the code and values of one school) cannot and should not be used as a measuring stick for another school. Each perguruan has its own history, philosophy, and method shaped by the needs of its people. What is sacred and effective in one tradition may not carry the same meaning in another.
